With Cy Young Award Winner Vida Blue facing journeyman spot starter Skip Lockwood starting the game the odds fell heavy in favor of the boys from the East side of the Bay. Blue, who dominated KOD hitters (6-1) during the regular season gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 10 hits en route to the rare 8 inning complete game loss. His counterpart, Lockwood, had the game of his life giving up just 1 run on 1 hit in 6 innings of fine work. Frank Linzy, who won last night's play in game was perfect over the final 3 to record the save. Home runs by Surhoff and Schroeder accounted for half of Milwaukee's runs. The Brew Crew take their show on the road to SoCal to face the Angels in the ALWC game. Momentum seems to be firmly on the side of the Brewers who have won 2 straight elimination games, but with no days off in over a week and a 3 1/2 hour flight ahead of them...the Brew Crew just might be running on fumes.
