Split ChiSox and Halos Rosters Split 4-game Series

Game #1
CHICAGO -- The Express was at his Iron Man best firing an 8-inning, 2-hit shutout. Ryan (1-0) threw 159 pitches, fanning 6, but walking 9 in the 3-0 Angels win over the White Sox. Eddie Fisher (1) pitched a perfect 9th to close it out. Torii Hunter led the offense with a RBI double and sacrifice fly.

Game #2
CHICAGO -- Harold Baines (3) 2-run home run highlighted a 7-run White Sox explosion. It was way more than Gary Peters (2-0) needed as he and John Buzhardt (2 IP) completed a 7-0 whitewashing. The Halos had just 3 hits.

 Game #3
ANAHEIM -- Ozzie Guillen's 2-run triple and Frank Thomas' (2) solo homer in the 8th led to a 5-4 comeback win for the Pale Hose. An ailing Tommy John allowed 2 1st inning Angels runs before being removed. The Sox tied it with a pair in the 5th, then Bobby Abreu (1) gave LA-A a 4-2 lead with a 2-run clout in the 6th. Don McMahon (2-0), Hoyt Wilhelm (3) and Fisher (1-1) were the pitchers of record.

Game #4
ANAHEIM -- Andy Messersmith (2-0) went the distance, allowing just 2 hits in a 2-1 Angels win to split the series. One of his blemishes was a solo shot by Robin Ventura (1). Vladimir Guerrero's (1) 2-run blast in the 6th provided the GWRBI.
